Lida Stein and the Righteous Gentile - Performed by Anne Frank Theater Project

The Holocaust Awareness Museum sponsored the first performance of Lida Stein and the Righteous Gentile, Sunday morning, January 24, 2010 at Beth Sholom synagogue, Elkins Park. PA. This second production of the Anne Frank Theater Project this season was performed in front of an audience of 100 students and adults.

Ruth Hartz Speaks, Donates Book to School Library (Pictures)

The Holocaust Awareness Museum extended its Survivor Outreach program to sixth grade students at Visitation BMV School, Philadelphia, Tuesday morning, January 12, 2010. Ruth Hartz, Holocaust Survivor and Hidden Child, told her story to more than forty children at the invitation of Sister Dolores Egner, Principal and Emily Diefendorf, their teacher.

Ruth Hartz, Holocaust survivor and Hidden Child, spoke to a combined eighth grade class at Congregation Beth Am in Jenkintown, PA., Tuesday evening, Jan.12, 2010. Hartz was invited by teachers Cindy Band and Rachel Frankel to tell her story of survival and sacrifice. Ms. Hartz’s appearance was sponsored by the Holocaust Awareness Museum as part of its Survivor Outreach Speakers Bureau.

Anne Frank diary guardian, Miep Gies, passes away

Miep Gies, the woman who helped hide Anne Frank and her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands and who, later, safe guarded Anne's diary, has passed away at age 100.
