"The Leica Freedom Train" Film Being Produced
During the 1930s and 40s, the son of the founder of the Leica camera company, Ernst Leitz II and his daughter smuggled hundreds of Jews out of Germany before the Holocaust by assigning them to their oversea Leitz sales offices in Britain, France, Hong Kong, and the United States. Dubbed "The Photography Industry's Schindler," Leitz established "The Leica Freedom Train." This article from aish.com describes the plan.
