When Yaakov Riz died in 1985, Sheila and her team soldiered on, continuing his mission. But, truth be told while we continued to do good work and attract others to our cause, we were always searching for the person who could take us to the next level.
It took over 20 years, but it was worth the wait. When we found Carol Honigman and recruited her to our organization we began our meteoric rise to where we are today. Her professional marketing skills were what we needed to transform a well intentioned group into a wonderful force for education. Carol brought talent, vision, experience and a magnetic personality to our efforts. In short, she is the complete package. We are thrilled to honor Carol for her hundreds of volunteer hours and selfless devotion to our cause.

Our Museum, founded by the late Ya’akov Riz, is housed at the Klein JCC in Northeast Philadelphia and serves as a vivid reminder of the consequences of intolerance and hate. Our yearly event allows us to maintain and expand our permanent collection of artifacts as well as continue our thriving education program. This past year our museum arranged for survivors and liberators to visit 368 schools and other locations and helped over 38,000 students learn first hand about the Holocaust and assisted survivors and liberators to dispel the myths that have been promulgated since 1945.
